Botulinum toxin in Wroclaw

Botox (botulinum toxin) is currently a very well-known substance used in aesthetic medicine procedures.

Injected into a muscle, it causes weakness and paralysis, preventing the muscle from contracting. Mimic wrinkles are an indication for botox injection, but not only. It is also used in the treatment of strabismus, neurological diseases associated with muscle tension, and even in the treatment of excessive sweating.

Preparation for the procedure

No additional tests are performed prior to botox injection. The doctor conducts a detailed interview with the patient concerning the medications taken or chronic diseases. 2-3 days before botox injection, you should stop taking anti-inflammatory and blood-thinning drugs, as well as herbs such as St. John’s wort. Abstinence from alcohol before and after botox treatment is advisable. On the day of the procedure, it is also not recommended to do physical exercises and to go to a sauna, solarium or swimming pool.

Effects of the procedure

The result of injecting botox into particular parts of the face includes skin smoothness, and thus giving the face a younger and vigorous look. As a result, the skin tightens less often and not as strongly, the muscle stops contracting and is temporarily relaxed. The cosmetic effect of using botox is visible after 3-4 days, and the appearance improvement lasts from 3 to 6 months.
