Preparation for the procedure
No additional tests are performed prior to botulinum toxin injection. The doctor conducts a detailed interview with the patient concerning the medications taken or chronic diseases. 2-3 days before injection, you should stop taking anti-inflammatory and blood-thinning drugs, as well as herbs such as St. John’s wort. Abstinence from alcohol before and after treatment is advisable. On the day of the procedure, it is also not recommended to do physical exercises and to go to a sauna, solarium or swimming pool.
Effects of the procedure
The result of injecting botulinum toxin into particular parts of the face includes skin smoothness, and thus giving the face a younger and vigorous look. As a result, the skin tightens less often and not as strongly, the muscle stops contracting and is temporarily relaxed. The cosmetic effect is visible after 3-4 days, and the appearance lasts from 3 to 6 months.
